In partnership with the Fenelon Falls High School, the FFTC courts are used for the school's phys. ed. classes and tennis team practices in the spring and fall. Check our court booking calendar for the most up to date court schedule.
The FFTC offers a variety of programs to accommodate various levels of play for all members as noted below.

MONDAY
Program Name: Monday Ladies Doubles Round Robin
Program Type: Adult
Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced

Description: Players are assigned a court and after a 10-minute warm up, players play for 25 minutes after which the winners split and move “up” a court and losers split and move “down” a court. Play continues rotating the winning and losing partnerships up and down the courts every 25 minutes. Players experience different partners, promoting equal level of play in a relaxed and fun tennis environment.
An email is sent out monthly requesting player availability for the coming month. A schedule is established showing when each player will play and includes a spare list. Scheduled players are responsible for organizing their replacement if they need to cancel from the supplied spare list.

Program Name: Monday Beginner/Intermediate Mixed Doubles

Description: Fun doubles league with some support. The program is for players newer to the game, who have some basic hitting skills and who want to continue to develop and apply those skills in a doubles game format.
Weekly players will be assigned to a court where everyone will get a chance to partner with everyone on that court. Ideally, you will get new groupings and see different people on the court to play with and against. The goal is fun.
Scoring: Total of 8 games (tiebreaker if needed) for each set. Players are to write down the scores on the scorecard provided by the convenor.

Program Name: Tuesday Morning Mixed Doubles League

Description: You will play three sets, partnering with each of the three other players on your court. Each set will consist of nine games, with the ninth game of each set played as a 7-point tiebreaker.
Keep track of the set scores, as you will record your score at the end of the match as the sum of games you won in each set. The score sheet is posted in the clubhouse. Results will help determine future match pairings.

WEDNESDAY
Program Name: Wednesday Men’s Doubles League

Description: Competitive league where players will be assigned to a court in advance. Within each court, the convenor will seed players 1-4 which will dictate partnerships in order of sets 1-3:
- Set 1: Seeds 1 & 4 vs. 2 & 3
- Set 2: Seeds 1 & 3 vs. 2 & 4
- Set 3: Seeds 1 & 2 vs. 3 & 4
Seeding and court numbers will change week to week based on results that will be tracked by the convenor.
Scoring: Total of 8 games + a tiebreaker for each set, using ad scoring. Players are to write down the scores on the scoreboard provided by the Convenor.

Program Name: Wednesday Evening Beginner Clinic

Description: Our Club Pro, Grace Ellery will be offering a weekly one-hour clinic for Beginner and experienced Beginner players on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30pm-7:30pm on a weekly pay-per-play basis*. This clinic is an opportunity for those who are new to the game of tennis who want to learn to play as well as for those experienced beginner players who want to improve their skills. Immediately following the clinic, there will be one hour of match play (see Wednesday Night Beginner Mixed Doubles program) from 7:30pm-8:30pm led by a FFTC mentor to help players feel comfortable with the rules of the game. Meet new members and enjoy learning to play on Wednesday evenings!

Description: Beginner Mixed Doubles follows the Beginner Clinic run by our Pro Grace Ellery. This session is focused on applying beginner tennis skills within the context of a doubles game format. Players will be assigned partners and a court based on ability level. Partners will rotate throughout the session. The focus is on consolidating the basic elements of doubles play in a stress-free context. The goal is to develop tennis knowledge, skills and confidence towards organizing one’s doubles matches independently and/ or joining one of the FFTC leagues.

THURSDAY
Program Name: Thursday Morning Mixed

Description: Doubles play (unless numbers dictate a singles court). This session welcomes new and returning members of all levels for non-competitive, fun tennis on two courts. If the numbers are not conducive to foursome play, we play server off and cycle around, sometimes doubles on one court and singles on the other.
As a courtesy to the Convenor and the other players, please indicate your attendance on Team Reach so people can see if numbers dictate singles play.

Program Name: Thursday Night Mixed Doubles League
Program Type: Adult

Description: Doubles play with each player on a court playing eight games plus a tiebreaker (regardless of whether necessary) with each of the other players (total of 27 games). The number of games won by each player on each court is recorded on the scorecard at the end of the session and the top players on each court the following week are moved up, and bottom players are moved down. I also try to create competitive foursomes at all levels of play, so good competitive tennis is achieved on each court regardless of the abilities of the players.

Description: Doubles play (or a singles court if numbers dictate) in which four games (plus a tiebreaker if necessary) then winners move and split to play winners, who also split, on another court. Same with the losers on each court – they move and split. This way everyone plays with everyone else.

Program Name: Singles Ladder
Program Type: All members

Description:
- Play begins June 1st and will continue through to September 30.
- The ladder board is posted on the wall in the Clubhouse.
- Initial order of names on the ladder will be the result of a random drawing out of a hat that will take place at the Open House on May 31st.
- New players after the draw are welcome to participate. New players' names will be placed at the bottom of the ladder.
- Players can only challenge up to three rungs above them on the ladder.
- Matches are two sets with no-ad scoring, and if required, a 7-point tiebreaker will be used to determine the set winner. The third set, if required, will be a 10-point tiebreaker, win by two.
- 10-minute warm-up unless the two players agree on a different amount of time.
- Winning player posts the match result by moving the names up/down on the board.
- If a player challenges two rungs above and wins, he/she moves up two rungs and the loser moves down one rung. (three rungs, winner moves up three runs and the loser moves down one rung, etc.)
- Players have 10 days in which to arrange and complete a match. A grace period is allowed if there are multiple cancellations due to wet courts. Please try to complete arranged matches within a reasonable time. Injured players will be exempt from the 10-day match completion period, but will move up or down the ladder, based on matches completed when they are injured.
- If a player doesn’t make themselves available to play within a 2 week period, they will be removed from the ladder.
- The TeamReach group “FFTC Singles Ladder 2026” has been created for the Singles Ladder to make it easy for each member to communicate with one another to arrange matches and keep in touch with one another. The code to join the TeamReach group is: FFTCSingles26. All players participating in the ladder will be required to join the TeamReach group.
- The challenger is responsible for booking a court at a mutually agreeable time, using the Online Booking System. Please indicate the match type as “singles” match.
